Estate Computers is a workshop where recycled computers
are refurbished and sold to tenants from the Carlton
estate.
The computers cost $125 and are good quality four year
old machines with genuine Microsoft software installed.
They come with a flat screen monitor, keyboard and mouse.
There is a three month hardware warranty.
Computer clinics are planned on Friday afternoons where
Hamdi and IT volunteers from Melbourne University will
help residents who are having problems with their computers.
Learn to refurbish a computer:
This course is run by Victoria University and the COOL
project. Students are enrolled in the Certificate 1
in Vocational Preparation (22012VIC) and the unit “Assemble
set up and test personal computers” Ueeneed002b.
Thursdays 10-3 pm at Estate Computers.
