Volunteers
Volunteers will be available to help residents with their
computer skills, hardware set up and trouble shooting.
Volunteer training will also be available.
The University of Melbourne is a key partner in the
COOL project, and provides student volunteers to help
residents with their computers. Student volunteers from
the Universitys Department of Information Systems
are a great asset to the project and will provide assistance
with the following:
Hardware installation
Trouble shooting
Helping residents to learn how to use a computer
Assisting at the computer clinics
Designing and translating relevant brochures
for the project
Designing IT manuals in different languages
Conducting relevant research and needs analysis
The University has established a student group called
inKind IT, to be responsible for promoting the
project and recruiting appropriate students to volunteer
on the project. All student volunteers will receive
appropriate volunteer training to assist them to understand
their role in working with the residents.
