Register for the Community Cultural Fair: Saturday 19 March
Add your artistic flair to the Community Cultural Fair. If you have an ethnically inspired performances, music, cultural activity or art and craft to share, we want to hear from you. Participation is free. To join the fun, email Amrit Kaur about your performance, activity or market stall. Get in quick, places are limited.
Free everyday English classes
TERM ONE 2016 PROGRAM
Improve your everyday English and workplace communication skills in a relaxed environment with Teach International trainee teachers and Hub volunteer tutors. Corporate volunteers also present at Talking Circles, facilitated by Jacobs and Clayton Utz. To join a class call 9092 1500 or email us.
Wellbeing for women at Multicultural Hub
5 FEBRUARY TO 18 MARCH
Improve your English and express your creativity in workshops and activities including singing, drawing, weaving, basic yoga and meditation. Funding is available for events through the Multicultural Festivals and Events program, run by the Victorian Multicultural Commission.If you run an event or festival that showcases the vibrancy of Victoria’s multiculturalism, fosters cultural awareness or preserves traditions, act now before applications close.
Koorie Night Market
Take in music and dance, contribute to a community mural and shop for artwork at the Koorie Night Market. A free, family event celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in our city. At Enterprize Park on Flinders Street, near Melbourne Aquarium. Presented by City of Melbourne.
29th Lonsdale St Greek Festival
27 AND 28 FEBRUARY
Sample Greek street food, home cooking and sweet treats at the Lonsdale St Greek Festival. This much-loved festival features food trucks, pop-up bars, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities and entertainment for people of all ages on two stages in the city’s historic Greek Precinct.
Japanese Summer Festival
SUNDAY 28 FEBRUARY
Get a taste of Japan at the Japanese Summer Festival, a family-friendly event that celebrates ‘Bon Matsuri’, the tradition of giving thanks to ancestors. There are cultural and martial arts demonstrations, song and dance, and a grand raffle draw. At Federation Square.
